Ex-FBI agent sentenced to 135 days in jail for shooting at police officer
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Michigan judge sentenced 35 year old ex-FBI agent Ruben Hernandez to 135 days behind bars for shooting at police officers outside of a Grand Rapids Planet Fitness.
Hernandez pleaded no-contest to felonious assault, and prosecutors recommended no jail time.
The judge ignored their request saying that anyone who shoots at police officers should serve jail time.
No one was injured in the December shooting.
The Las Vegas-based agent was in West Michigan for an investigation.
He has since been fired.
