Emmett Township officer faces sexual assault charges
EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An Emmett Township Public Safety officer has been arrested. He's accused of sexually assaulting a teenager.
State police detectives say Emmett Township Officer Troy Estree is facing two counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree.
Estree was arrested Wednesday morning by state police.
Right now, the 10-year police veteran is sitting in the Branch County Jail as he waits to be arraigned on those felony charges.

The Calhoun County Prosecutor is asking for a special prosecutor to be appointed by the Michigan Attorney General in the case. This statement was issued:
"Due to the different police agencies involved and the relationship between our offices, we are requesting a Special Prosecutor be appointed by the Attorney General to avoid any appearance of impropriety."
