Deputies say accused DUI driver caused head-on crash injuring 2

SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 48-year-old man from Clinton Twp woke up in jail Wednesday morning.

Deputies say he was driving drunk when he caused a head-on collision injuring two people.

The call came in just before midnight Tuesday of a driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes on I94 near 26 Mile Rd.

When Deputies found the vehicle it had crashed into a westbound vehicle in the driver side.

The occupants of that vehicle were identified as a 27 year old male from Jackson, and a 28 year old female, also from Jackson, MI.

Both were transported by Albion Ambulance to Allegiance Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.

The wrong-way driver was placed under arrest and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.

He is expected to be arraigned on charges of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury.
