Deputies investigating Kent County deaths

KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The Kent County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after two people died Monday.

Police were called to the 9200 block of 14 Mile Road NE around 2:24 pm Monday after someone called 911.

Upon arrival, deputies found 59-year-old Gloria Launiere dead and 34-year-old David Applegate seriously injured. Deputies say Applegate is Launiere’s son.

Applegate was taken to Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids where he died of his injuries.

Police say their initial investigation shows that all parties involved in the deaths have been accounted for.

Police are continuing to investigate and further information is expected.
