Some scary moments this morning at the Speedway gas station in Schoolcraft.

Firefighters say a driver ran inside to grab something and when the driver came out, smoke was pouring out of their engine.

The SUV caught fire in front of a locker filled with propane tanks.

"The gas station attendant did shut down the pumps just as a precautionary, and our main concern was knocking down the flames before it reached the propane tanks," Capt. Rick Pelican with the South County Fire Department said.

According to firefighters, the driver did the right thing by not trying to move their car away from those tanks.

The flames were put out quickly and no one was hurt.
