Bronson Healthcare limiting hospital visitation due to high incidence of flu cases
KALAMAZOO, Mich. —
To reduce the spread of influenza and other illnesses, the Bronson Healthcare system is temporarily limiting visitation in all hospitals.
The following policies apply to Bronson Methodist Hospital, Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, Bronson LakeView Hospital and Bronson South Haven Hospital.
- At all hospitals: Visitors must be 15 years or older.
- At Bronson BirthPlace in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek: Only the patient’s immediate family members may visit regardless of age, but visitors younger than 15 will be required to wear a mask.
- At emergency departments: Visitors must be 15 years or older; only two visitors per patient are permitted.
Healthcare system officials said the policy change is similar to what other hospitals in the region and nation are doing to protect patients and visitors during flu season.
