Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Vogel Drive in Sherwood Township after receiving a call that a 32-year-old man had accidentally discharged a handgun, striking himself in the lower leg.

When deputies arrived, the man was aware enough to identify that a witness at the scene had dressed the wound and that the wound was in fact accidental.
