NEWAYGO COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in a wooded area near Crystal Trails, between 20th and 28th Streets.
Deputies tell Newschannel 3 that the case is being investigated as a homicide.
Newaygo County dispatchers received a call just after 6 p.m. Saturday evening, about a possible body which was found in the area. Deputies found the body, which has only been identified as a black male, after a brief investigation on the scene.
At this point, deputies say they are currently looking for any members of the public who have trail cameras in the Crystal Trails area, who may have footage between Friday, August 4, and Saturday, August 5.
The Sheriff's Department is also looking for help from the public locating a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, though at this time they are not stating its relation--if any--to the case.
The vehicle is white in color, with tinted windows, and a Michigan license plate, "HAYMER3."
