Bicyclist dies after crash near bike path in Muskegon County
SULLIVAN TOWNSHIP —
Muskegon County police investigated a fatal crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle in Sullivan Township Saturday.
The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Maple Island Road and the Muskatawa Bike Path in Muskegon County.
James Larue of North Muskegon was traveling west bound on the Muskatawa Bike Path, when police said Larue did not stop at the intersection with Maple Island Road.
Larue was struck by a north bound car, driven by Ronald Griggs, and was struck while on his bicycle. Larue died from injuries at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. He was not wearing a helmet.
The passenger in the car was also taken to Hackley Hospital. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the accident.
