Bells set to open newest brewery in upper peninsula

ESCANABA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Bell's newest brewery is set to begin making beer next month in the upper peninsula.

It's called Upper Hand Brewery, and is located in Escanaba.

The Michigan Liquor Control Commission recently approved the brewery's license.

Larry Bell expects the production of beer for kegs to be fully operational by mid-September.

Bottled beer production will follow.

Upper Hand Brewery will make and distribute beer, but won't sell directly to the public.
