Baby Kate's father due in court

MASON COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The father of missing Baby Kate is expected back in a Mason County courtroom Thursday.

This is the continuation of the probable cause hearing for Sean Michael Phillips that started in April.

He's been charged with open murder in connection to the 2011 disappearance of his 4-month old daughter.

The hearing was adjourned for three months to give the defense time to analyze an unsigned letter.

The baby's mother claims it was from Sean Phillips, admitting he accidentally killed Kate.

A judge will determine if there's enough evidence to go to trial.
