B93 Birthday Bash moves to Fifth Third Ballpark for one-day event
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3 ) - The 2018 B93 Birthday Bash is moving locations after years in Allegan County.
B-93.7 announced the annual music festival is moving to the Fifth Third Ballpark in Walker, which is in Kent County. It will now also only be a one-day event.
In previous years, tens of thousands of country music fans gather at the US131 Motorsports Park in Martin for the days-long festival, but it has not all been smooth sailing. In 2004, a car of concertgoers crashed on their way home from the festival, and authorities believe alcohol was involved. In 2009, flooding took over a parking lot, and in 2015, rain forced organizers to cancel day two of the Bash. There was overcrowding in 2013, meaning concertgoers were turned away, but a new parking system since them seemed to solve the problems.
Organizers say in 2018, the Birthday Bash is moving to a new facility so there is better views, food options, facilities and seating for everyone. Unlike in the past, the tickets will be limited, and cost $34 for the cheapest option. Parking will also be available at Fifth Third Ballpark for $10.
The 2018 Birthday Bash will be an all-day event beginning at noon on June 2. The night will end at 10 p.m. with a fireworks display.
Tickets will be available later this year. The line up will be announced at a later date.
