Armed suspect arrested on home invasion charges in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A suspect is arrested after police say he broke into a home to try and escape them.

Battle Creek Police say they got a complaint of a man with a gun around 3:40am Thursday, August 21st.

It happened in the 400 block of W. Jackson Street. Police say when they arrived they saw the suspect kick in the front door of a residence and run inside.

Once they got the homeowners out of the building, the suspect took off through a side door.

After a brief chase officers caught up to the suspect about a block away and arrested him. The say the suspect was armed with a handgun.

This suspect is now facing charges of Home Invasion and Resisting and Obstructing.
