American Legion riders start trip through Michigan to raise money for Legacy Scholarship

HARBOR SPRINGS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The American Legion riders revved up their engines in Emmett County on Thursday, as they started a trip down through Michigan to raise donations.

Kicking off in Harbor Springs, the first-ever Legacy Ride raises money for the Legacy Scholarship, which helps fund college expenses for children of military personnel that died while on active duty.

More than 60 motorcycles rolled out Thursday.

They will stop in Grand Rapids tonight, and finish Friday at a convention in Sterling Heights.

People can join the run at any stop.
