Alamo Drafthouse to show Robin Williams films

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Fans around the world are mourning the shocking death of Hollywood icon Robin Williams.

The 63-year-old Oscar winner was found dead in his home in Marin County, California, north of San Francisco, on Monday afternoon.

An autopsy revealed that Williams died of asphyxia due to hanging.

In the wake of his death, mourners are turning to his legendary career for comfort, and Thursday, the Alamo Drafthouse in Kalamazoo will be holding a Robin Williams Memorial.

They will be showing Good Will Hunting, and The Birdcage.

"We were looking for two films that would show both sides of Robin Williams," said Alamo Creative Director James Sanford. "Both the comic actor that so many people have come to love over the years, and also the more serious actor."

All proceeds raised will be donated to Gryphon Place in Kalamazoo--a non-profit that helps people dealing with depression and thoughts of suicide.
