3 W. Mich. companies expand, creating around 100 jobs
WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Three West Michigan companies are expanding and will soon be hiring.
In Grand Rapids, The Right Place announced Wednesday that two new West Michigan economic development projects will bring in over 100 new jobs and a combined $10 million to the region.
The first project is at Flow-Rite in Byron Township, which manufactures and markets fluid control devices for lead-acid batteries.
The second is at Celia Corporation, in Sparta, which makes pressure-sensitive materials.
In more positive job news, another company is also expanding and adding jobs--this in St. Joseph County.
VCI Incorporated is expanding in Sturgis, and investing over $1 million in new equipment.
The company is creating 20 jobs and retaining an additional 20 jobs.
They are moving to a vacant building on West Dresser Drive in Sturgis.
Because the area is full of potholes, the Michigan Department of Transportation says it will resurface roads in that area to ensure all-season access.
