Three people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Cass County.

The crash happened on Marcellus Highway east of Lawrence Road in Volinia Township around 8:30 a.m.

Carl Shelby, Jr. and Sherry Shelby, both 56-years-old, were driving eastbound on Marcellus Highway, when a vehicle traveling westbound lost control on the ice and struck the Shelby's truck.

Marilyn Koyl, 70, of Marcellus spun around and went into the ditch on the north side of the road. Mr. Shelby's truck went into the ditch on the south side of the road.

The Shelby's were transported to Three Rivers Hospital, and Koyl was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Deputies say they believe Koyl was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
