Cruz, Pence stumping in Kalamazoo Thursday
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan is seeing more campaign rallies Thursday as the race for president heats up.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz will make his first official stops on behalf of the Donald Trump ticket. He's coming to the Air Zoo with vice presidential candidate Mike Pence.
They'll be holding a rally there Thursday afternoon.
Every day this week we have seen multiple political rallies all around the state for both Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Both campaigns have also made last-minute ad buys in a handful of battleground states, including Michigan, showing just how important our state will be in this election.
Wednesday, Bernie Sanders was here campaigning for Clinton, while Donald Trump Junior and Ivanka Trump both made stops in the mitten.
Newschannel 3 was the only station to get an interview with Trump's daughter, who has a message for the people of Michigan.
"My father dreams big. He's not afraid of success. I know that sounds like an odd thing to say, but there are a lot of people who are afraid of success, they don't swing for the fences, so my father is one of these rare people who combines big picture vision with meticulous execution and that's so critical because you can't have one without the other," said Ivanka Trump.
Trump was in Grand Rapids on Monday, and Friday Hillary Clinton will hold a public rally to get out the vote in Detroit. We will be there.
Thursday's event at the Air Zoo is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
You can look for more Thursday night at 5:00 and 6:00.
