I-Team: Christopher Lockhart pleads guilty to cutting wires, tampering with alcohol tether
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Christopher Lockhart has pleaded guilty to cutting his neighbor's wires and tampering with his alcohol tether.
Lockhart is the sole person of interest in the disappearance of his wife Theresa, who vanished four months ago.
The Newschannel 3 I-Team has followed this case every step of the way.
Investigative reporter Walter Smith-Randolph is live in the newsroom with what this means for Lockhart.
This means Christopher Lockhart will have two more felonies on his record. But it's also very likely Lockhart will not face any jail time for committing these crimes.
The admission of guilt from Lockhart comes one day after the four month mark since anyone has seen or heard from Theresa Lockhart.
Christopher Lockhart has been uncooperative in the police investigation since his wife disappeared.
Lockhart has also has been arrested four times in the last four months.
This arrest and guilty plea stems from a neighbor catching Lockhart on home security footage sneaking into his neighbor's backyard and cutting the air conditioning and cable wires.
Court documents also say during that crime, Lockhart looked at the camera and said: "you have a family, don't be a hero."
In court Friday, Lockhart stood with his lawyer and didn't say much as the judge explained the plea deal.
Also in court today, the judge delayed Lockhart's sentence date until December.
