Study: Small changes to diet can have lasting health impact
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new study out of Harvard says even small changes to your diet can have a lasting impact on your health.
Some pretty easy changes can significantly lower your risk of premature death.
The study found those positive changes included things like eating more whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and fish can lower your risk of early death by between 10 and 20 percent.
Experts also suggest eating less red, processed meats and drinking fewer sugary beverages.
Researchers looked at nearly 74,000 adults over a 12-year period.
The study hopes to shine a light on the importance of making lasting healthy diet changes while avoiding fad diets.
