Study: Negative thinking bad for the brain

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - According to a new study, negative thinking is bad for the brain.

Researchers at the University of Eastern Finland examined nearly 1,500 people with the average age of 71.

They tested people by asking if they agreed with statements like, "I think most people would lie to get ahead," or "it is safer to trust nobody."

It showed that the more cynical a person is, the higher likelihood they had of developing dementia.

And people with the highest level of cynical distrust had more than two times greater risk of dementia.
