Study: Fist bumping shares less bacteria than hand shaking

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Apparently when it comes to being sanitary, President Obama is on to something.

A new study out Monday morning finds a quick fist bump spreads only one-twentieth the amount of bacteria that a handshake does.

That's even better than a high-five, which passes along less than half the amount as a handshake.

Researchers say it's mostly due to the smaller amount of surface area in contact between the two hands.
