Report: More Americans dealing with food allergies
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new report shows more Americans are dealing with food allergies.
Millions are now swearing off foods like shellfish, eggs, peanuts, soy and more.
Roughly 4-percent of Americans are now dealing with the stomach cramps or life-threatening swelling of the airways that comes with allergies.
And it's not cheap to deal with either!
Food allergies cost the U.S. an estimated $25 billion every year.
The most common was shellfish, along with peanuts, fruits and vegetables.
