The American Society of Plastic Surgeons says brachioplasty--or upper arm lifts--in women have shot up more than 4,000 percent over the last decade.
About 15,000 women had the procedure done last year.
The surgery removes excess skin and fat, giving the arm a more contoured look.
Doctors say many turn to it when diet and exercise alone fail to tone their arms.
The surgery does leave a scar, and costs about $6,000.
