Google launching new feature to help those dealing with depression
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Google is launching a new feature designed to help people who are dealing with depression.
Mobile users in the U.S. who search for "clinical depression" will now be offered a clinically validated questionnaire called PHQ-nine.
They're asked about their energy, appetite and concentration levels.
Google says the test is a "private self-assessment" that determines whether users should seek professional help.
The National Aliance of Mental Illness says about one in five Americans deals with clinical depression at least once in their lives.
