Children may be at risk of poisoning from medications meant for family pets
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new study out Monday morning warns children at home may be at risk of poisoning from medications meant for the family pet.
Doctors looked at more than 1,400 calls made to the Ohio Poison Center regarding vet medicines.
They found almost 90 percent of the children involved were under five.
Many picked up medication spit out by the pet, or got into the pet's food which had medicines mixed in it.
