Battle between drug maker and pediatricians over drug

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A drug maker is clashing with pediatricians over new recommendations on usage of its medicine.

The drug is sold by Med-Immune under the brand name Synagis.

It's used to prevent problems linked with RSV.

But new American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines say medical evidence shows it only really benefits very young preemies.

Med-Immune is now fighting back with full-page newspaper ads stating this new policy threatens the most vulnerable babies.
