WYOMING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police released new information in the brutal Craigslist killings.

Wyoming police say Brady Oestrike killed 25-year-old Charles Oppeneer, beheading him last month. They sat he then strangled Oppeneer's pregnant, 18-year-old girlfriend, Brooke Slocum.

Newschannel 3's Stacia Mullaney just got a new report from the Wyoming Police Department, detailing the timeline of the killings and investigation. She's live at Wyoming police headquarters.

Police say it all started early on the morning of Sunday, July 13. Police found an abandoned vehicle at Gezon Park that was registered to Oppeneer.

Two days later, police returned and the car was still there.

In the early morning of Wednesday, July 16, the car was marked abandoned.

The Kent County Sheriff's Department went to the house of Oppeneer's parents, who said they did not know where he was. His employer said he did not come to work that day.

At 11:30 a.m. on July 16, police searched Gezon Park and discovered Oppeneer's decapitated body.

Investigators then discovered Oppeneer had been dating Slocum. They went to find her. Her roommate told police she had last seen the couple at 8 p.m. on July 12.

At 8 p.m. on July 16, police searched Slocum's apartment, finding a computer.

On Thursday, July 17, investigators turned the computer over to the Internet Crimes Against Children task force to look for evidence.

At 5 p.m. on July 17, investigators provided police with Brady Oestrike's name. Police then assembled outside his home.

As police get a judge to sign a search warrant, at 9 p.m. on July 17, Oestrike left his home, leading police on a chase. He crashed his car on a US-131 entrance ramp and took his own life.
