SB US-131 shut down by crash  ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Authorities have shut down southbound US-131 in Allegan County for a crash.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES remain for all of West Michigan until 8 PM.  The expiration time is 4 PM in Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties.  1" to 3" of snow followed by freezing rain has left some roads slippery.  Areas of light snow and freezing drizzle won't do our roads any favors through sunset.  Please be careful traveling during your evening commute and beyond!

Stay with for your weather this afternoon and always!

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Starting Friday, the Michigan State Police will once again join forces with other state patrols to step up traffic enforcement.

The "I-94/90 Challenge To Save Lives" is a coordinated traffic enforcement initiative along Interstates 90 and 94 from Washington to New York.

Troopers will look out for seat belt use, speeding, aggressive and impaired driving.

The initiative runs through August 4th.

A similar effort from earlier this month resulted in 67 texting citations and 77 careless/reckless driving citations across Michigan.
