LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY for Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe counties until 9 PM.  2" to 6" of snow are possible on northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph bringing lake effect snow bands near and across US 131, at times.  Some locations will see more than 6", especially closer to Lake Michigan.  Roads are slippery and become more tricky once the sun sets.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A tree falls on Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, closing three lanes of traffic.

Police have closed both eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of the road, near Howard Street as crews work to clear the road.
