HIGH WIND WARNING; WIND ADVISORY

WARNING Until 11 PM; ADVISORY Until 2 AM

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana issues a HIGH WIND WARNING in Berrien county until 11 PM for 60 mph, or higher, wind gusts.  65 mph gusts have already been confirmed in Michigan City.  

A WIND ADVISORY remains for nearly all of West Michigan until 2 AM.  45 mph to 55 mph gusts are likely and have already verified.  Downed tree branches and some power outages are possible.  The wind direction is from the north, and winds will easily be sustained in the 25 to 35 mph range.

KENT COUNTY, Mich.  (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - MSP Troopers are investigating a fatality crash in Tyrone Township that involved a passenger car and a motorcycle.

It happened on 17 mile Rd. (M-46) near Sparta Ave just before 6am Tuesday morning.

A 2004 Chevy Impala driven by Cody Jerls, 28, from Kent City was traveling east on 17 mile road when he attempted a left turn into a private driveway and turned into the path of a westbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver, identified as 56-year-old Thomas Clemens, of Rockford, was pronounced on the scene.

The crash is still under investigation but alcohol is not considered a factor.

The roadway re-opened at approximately 3:00 p.m.
