WIND ADVISORY

10 AM Until 2 AM Saturday

The National Weather Service maintains a WIND ADVISORY for nearly all of West Michigan from 10 AM this morning until 2 AM Saturday morning.  45 mph gusts are likely inland while 50 mph gusts are possible at the Lake Shore.  This kind of wind is capable of bringing down tree branches and creating some power outages.  Obviously, we hope that doesn't happen.  Winds blow from the northwest this morning then from the north by midday and beyond.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather today and always!

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Thursday, family and friends will remember a Kalamazoo County man.taken off life support last week after being severely beaten in California.

31-year-old Bryan Lynn Higgins was an activist who was well known in Kalamazoo's gay community.

On August 10th he was found severely beaten in a San Francisco park.

He was taken off life support just three days later.

Police have made no arrests in this case.

Thursday night a memorial service will be held in Higgins' honor. It's at 8:30 at the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Kalamazoo.

After the service a public reception will be held at Mangia Mangia downtown.
