HASTINGS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A court appearance is scheduled Wednesday for a former Barry County Sheriff's jail deputy facing sex-related charges involving female inmates.

44-year-old Wayne Hoffman is charged with two counts of gross indecency, first degree obscenity and prostitution, accosting and soliciting.

The details of the allegations of inappropriate behavior involving female inmates are likely to come out Wednesday at Hoffman's preliminary hearing.

Hoffman resigned in January.

A judge will decide if there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.
