(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Coca-Cola is going back to its old recipe of its popular Vitaminwater beverages.

For the past few months the company had switched the sweetener in the drink to a mix of sugar and stevia, a low calorie sweetener known for its metallic aftertaste.

But customers have not been too happy about the change, according to a statement on Vitaminwater's website.

So they're switching back to the old recipe of a mix of sugar and crystalline fructose.

The change in ingredients did not lower the calorie count and the company has never been clear about why it switched in the first place.
