HIGH WIND WARNING; WIND ADVISORY

WARNING Until 11 PM; ADVISORY Until 2 AM

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana issues a HIGH WIND WARNING in Berrien county until 11 PM for 60 mph, or higher, wind gusts.  65 mph gusts have already been confirmed in Michigan City.  

A WIND ADVISORY remains for nearly all of West Michigan until 2 AM.  45 mph to 55 mph gusts are likely and have already verified.  Downed tree branches and some power outages are possible.  The wind direction is from the north, and winds will easily be sustained in the 25 to 35 mph range.

Amtrak running on modified schedule until late Sept.

WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Amtrak will continue operating trains on a modified schedule through the end of September.

This affects the Wolverine service and Blue Water routes as the company completes infrastructure improvements.

The construction is expected to improve the track and signals, allowing for a smoother ride with a future extension of a 110 mile-per-hour service between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.

Normal schedules will return on October 1st.
