DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 11 AM

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY until 11 AM for nearly every county in West Michigan save for our Indiana bordering counties of Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch.  It doesn't mean it won't be foggy there!  The combination of yesterday evening's rainfall, light winds while you were sleeping, and our unusually cool airmass is a near perfect recipe for visibilities under a mile and perhaps as low as 1/4 mile.  This is enough to change how you drive.  Please keep it safe this morning, and slow it down if you can.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather!

18yr old arrested in Kalamazoo for concealed weapon

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Kalamazoo teen was arrested early Tuesday morning for carrying a concealed weapon.

Public Safety Officers say just after midnight they responded to a 911 call regarding a group of young males riding bicycles in the Edison Neighborhood, one was carrying a handgun.  

Two officers quickly arrived and noticed several males riding bikes in the area but they scattered when police arrived.

According to a release, officers located two of the subjects riding in the area of Cameron and Stockbridge and one was stopped in the 1600 block of Stockbridge, near a local party store, for several City Ordinance violations.

During the contact officers located a discarded handgun nearby.

The 18 year old Kalamazoo resident, a known gang member with numerous interactions with law enforcement and several prior arrests, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
