DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 10 AM

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for St. Joe and Branch counties until 10 AM.  Dense fog has already been observed in many cities in West Michigan including Kalamazoo.  The ADVISORY may be expanded to include more counties.  Burning off fog this time of year is tough thanks to a low sun angle.  Fog may linger in some locations until midday.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Battle Creek man charged with murder in the death of an infant is expected in court Thursday.

Manuel Hernandez is charged in the death of a 7-week-old baby girl.

Thursday a judge will decide if there's enough evidence to send him to trial.

In June Hernandez rushed baby Isabella, his girlfriend's daughter, to the hospital after he said he accidentally fell down the stairs with the baby.

X-rays revealed fractured ribs and signs of abuse. Hernandez later confessed to investigators he threw the infant down because she was crying.

After being told her baby would not be able to walk, talk or breathe on her own the baby was taken off of life support.

We spoke with Isabella's mom shortly after she died. She had some very harsh words for Hernandez.

"I hope he goes to prison for life and at some time I hope he's put on life support and he suffers," said Billy Joe Smith. "I know it sounds bad but I hope someone will torture him and he gets put on life support. It hurts so bad, I just want all the mothers out there to know don't trust anybody. I want them all to learn from this."

Hernandez is expected to be in court in Battle Creek at 11:30 Thursday morning.

We will let you know what the judge decides.
