Immigration crisis reaches Michigan Updated: Thursday, July 31, 2014 BAY CITY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The immigration crisis has reached Michigan. Child refugees will soon be housed on the east side of the state. The federal government will place 24 children from Central America in Bay City. Wellspring Lutheran Services will house the children, who are between 6 and 12 years old. The government tells the city the housing is temporary and will be no longer than 90 days. Meanwhile, the House abandoned a vote on legislation to address the immigration crisis on the border Thursday. Congress is now on a five week summer break, with no resolution.
