Woman pleads not-guilty in murder, dismemberment case story image

NEW YORK (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A New York woman has pleaded not guilty to the murder and dismemberment of a mother of four.

Fresh details are emerging in the sensational killing.

"The victim suffered over 40 stab wounds to her chest in addition to dismemberment," said one investigator.

Prosecutors say the suspect was the victim's landlord and they say she killed the woman over money owed for rent and utilities.

Pieces of the victim were left in bags and suitcases in two separate counties.

Some were found in bags on peoples lawns.

Defense attorneys say there is no proof the suspect was involved in the murder and they want the charges dismissed.
