(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl could meet with an Army investigator next week.

This would be the first time the former prisoner of war meets with the Army's lead investigator into his disappearance.

Bergdahl disappeared in 2009 in Afghanistan, and was captured by the Taliban.

Several veterans and soldiers call him a deserter who walked off his base.

An Army fact-finding investigation found that Bergdahl did leave his outpost on his own free will.

However, the Army has no clear finding that he deserted because they don't know his intent.

Military officials say they won't know that until they speak to Bergdahl
