LITTLETON, Colo. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A 9-1-1 prank call led Colorado police to send an entire SWAT team to a fake homicide.

A suspect called to report he had killed his co-workers, and gave an address to where he said he was hiding.

That led police to an office where a popular gamer was doing a live stream for a large online audience.

Police eventually realized this was an instance of swatting--the term used to define a hacker tricking a 9-1-1 operator into sending a SWAT team to an unsuspecting victim's home under false pretenses.

Police are asking the FBI to help identify the caller.
