New app gives sense of around-the-clock missile barrage

Updated: Sunday, July 27, 2014

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new mobile app now gives users around the world a sense of life under an around-the-clock missile barrage.

The app, called Red Alert, was created to warn Israelis of incoming rockets.

Since the conflict in the middle east began two weeks ago, the Red Alert app has gone off more than 1,000 times.

The technology is not cutting edge, but gives a glimpse of the direction in which mobile apps are moving.

Jennifer Gilbert reports.
