DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 11 AM

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY until 11 AM for nearly every county in West Michigan save for our Indiana bordering counties of Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch.  It doesn't mean it won't be foggy there!  The combination of yesterday evening's rainfall, light winds while you were sleeping, and our unusually cool airmass is a near perfect recipe for visibilities under a mile and perhaps as low as 1/4 mile.  This is enough to change how you drive.  Please keep it safe this morning, and slow it down if you can.  Stay with wwmt.com for your weather!

FAA restricts flights over Iraq

FAA restricts flights over Iraq story image

WASHINGTON, D.C. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The FAA is issuing new flight restrictions over Iraq because of what it calls hazardous situations created by an armed conflict.

The order issued Thursday night follows the downing two weeks ago of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.

It was shot down by a missile as it flew over rebel-held territory in eastern Ukraine.

The FAA says the situation in Iraq is just as volatile. It's restricting planes from flying at or below 30,000 feet.
