American journalist killed by Isis in Syria story image

SYRIA (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - We are expecting to hear from President Obama Wednesday on the execution of American journalist James Foley.

The reporter's mother confirmed it was her son who was brutally murdered on camera by Isis militants in Syria.

The video also included a message to the U.S. to end its intervention in Iraq.

Foley was kidnapped in 2012 while covering the war in Syria. He was working for the Boston based news outlet Global Post.

Before his death he read a message supposedly written by his captors, blaming America for his death.

The video also shows another American journalist, believed to be Time Magazine contributor Steve Sotloff being held.

The terrorists are now threatening his life, saying it depends on the president's actions.
