ENCINO, California (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Crews are mopping up hotspots after a deadly apartment fire in California.

Two people have died and several others were treated for minor injuries.

The fire broke out in a corner apartment in a three-story apartment building in Encino late Thursday night.

Firefighters could be seen cutting ventilation holes on the roof as the fire burned through what appeared to be an attic.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
