KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Western Michigan University is receiving recognition for the school's service to our country's military veterans.

Military Times Edge magazine has named WMU one of the best universities in the country for military veterans.

The publication looked at factors like service member enrollment, percentage of tuition covered by the G.I. Bill, and availability of programs that specifically help service members.

Western is the only school in the state to have appeared on the list for four straight years.

WMU has the largest number of veteran students of any of the state's public universities, and has offered in-state tuition status to veterans since 2007.
