KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - More than 50 churches in the Kalamazoo area are getting together to host grill-outs.

The community outreach program is called Jesus Loves Kalamazoo.

Prayer and grill-outs are being held in community parks each night this week.

There's free food and drinks, as well as volunteers there to help with your social and spiritual needs.

The outreach gets bigger each year, with more area churches joining in.

Organizers say the program is about bringing area churches together, and helping members of the community with whatever problems they may have.

"We want to find people who are hurting, get them plugged into different resources, places, and agencies that can help them out," said Nate Bull, with the Vanguard Street Ministry.
