WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

Through 8 am

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the following counties in West Michigan, effective until 8 am Friday: Barry, Calhoun, and Eaton. Pockets of freezing drizzle may make hazardous driving conditions in the Advisory area, particularly on less-traveled, rural roads. The freezing drizzle is expected to end shortly before daybreak. Because of the potential for slick spots on area roads, drivers all around West Michigan should use a little more caution on this morning's commute.

Study: Seniors slow down because they have too much to recall story image
(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new study seems to reveal why senior citizens seem to slow down mentally with age.

Scientists believe that older people don't decline mentally with age, but it takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information to sort through in their brains.

The study from the Journal of Topics in Cognitive Science suggests that much like a computer struggles as a hard drive fills up, humans also take longer to access information the longer they've been alive.

Simply put, the more data you have, the longer it takes to process.
