Stryker to buy robotic surgery business

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Stryker has struck up a deal to expand its robotic surgery business.
The Kalamazoo-based corporation announced an agreement Wednesday to acquire Mako Surgical Corportation for $1.65 billion.
Mako specializes in robotic arm systems that aid in orthopedic surgery.
Investors seem to be behind the merger. In just one day shares of Mako have almost doubled, from about 16 dollars a share, to 29.
