(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new consumer report says haggling can save you hundreds of dollars.
A survey of 2,000 Americans found that 9 out of 10 Americans who negotiated for a better deal wound up saving money, but only 48 percent of shoppers even tried over the past three years.
That's down from 61 percent in 2007.
89 percent of those who haggled were rewarded at least once with a deal.
The survey found you can save, on average, $300 on furniture, $80 on cell phone plans, and $200 on appliances.
